ARROYO ALLIGATORS TOUCH

A small but growing AND TOTALLY INCLUSIVE touch football association established in 2022 and located in Arroyo de Encomienda, in Valladolid, Spain.

Emerging from the swamp...

Arroyo Alligators Touch is a club with two competition teams, both mixed, that play in the first and second divisions of the National League respectively.

Arroyo Alligators Touch currently has 31 members ranging in age from 12 to 52, although there is no age limit in this sport.

At our club, everyone is welcome regardless of age, skill, or experience. Whether you’ve never played touch football before and want to give it a try, or you’re a social player looking to have fun while getting fit, or you’re competitive and eager to play for one of our representative teams, our club is the place for you!

Our team trains on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Sotoverde rugby fields (Calle Juan de la Cierva) and it is open to all who want to enjoy this exciting sport.

Touch in Spain

There are 25 teams in Spain distributed in Madrid, Catalonia, Castilla y Leon, the Basque Country, the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands and Valencia.

There are two national competitions in Spain. Currently Barcelona Touch hold the title of champions of Spain.

Competitions are held throughout Europe and national teams play each other in the European Touch World Cups.

The governing bodies of the sport are the International Touch Federation, the European Touch Federation, and the Spanish Touch Association, TouchEspaña.

Touch España was formed in 2008 and currently has almost 500 registered players. The association has 16 teams spread throughout the country. In 2023 the European Championship and the World Cup will take place in England and 3 Spanish teams are expected to participate.

BASIC RULES OF TOUCH RUGBY:

Instead of tackling, players must touch their opponent anywhere on their body to stop their advance.

The ball can only be passed backwards the same as rugby.

No physical contact of any kind is allowed, including pushing or grabbing opponents.

Are allowed and the touch count begins at zero.

The try zone is located at the end of the field and is scored by touching the line with the ball.

A touch game is 40 minutes with two 20 minute halfs.

These are the basic rules, but there may be some variations depending on the league or competition.

TOUCH VALUES

Touch is the new sport that is developing the fastest in Europe due to its simplicity, the mixed aspect and the opportunity to play with players of different ages in the same team (parents and children).

Among the values of Touch, integration, respect, tolerance, passion, improvement, effort, cooperation and fun stand out.

Touch is one of the few team sports in which girls and boys, women and men enjoy playing together and against each other. Mixed competitions make the Touch very popular for all ages.

This is a sport that is growing rapidly across Europe and every year we see new competitions and hundreds of new players. An accessible, fun and enriching sport.
